In haar ogen is het een mislukte wake-up call over hoe wij, aardbewoners, desastreus omgaan met ongerepte volkeren en hun innige band met de natuur. Ik was voorbereid na de eerste Avatar. Het gevoel na dit vervolg gezien te hebben deel ik met haar: het is geen leuke film en zeker ook geen kinderfilm. Ik werd geroerd door de thema\u2019s in deze animatiefilm, net als zij. Wat met \u2018gewone\u2019 acteurs \u2013 het waren wel degelijk acteurs &#8211; waarschijnlijk niet zou zijn gelukt. Het monstrueuze van de kolonisator, de onwaarschijnlijke schoonheid van variaties in de natuur onder water, de mythologische veerkracht van de Na\u2019vi zouden zonder de overweldigende techniek nooit zo\u2019n indruk hebben kunnen achterlaten bij de kijkers.&nbsp;Maar het blijft een fantasiefilm, een 3D animatie, entertainment van het duurste soort. Ik begrijp, dat pas na een omzet van $2 miljard de film winstgevend wordt.&nbsp;Het lijkt bijna onmogelijk om dit te overtreffen door de twee volgende afleveringen. Maar misschien kan Ilse Meijer daarna wel concluderen, dat de wake-up call er degelijk is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-red-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">No, I do not agree with Ilse Meijer that the maker of Avatar, the way of water, should have made more of this film (NRC 13\/1\/23). In her eyes it is a failed wake-up call about how we, earthlings, deal disastrously with pristine peoples and their close bond with nature. I was prepared after the first Avatar. I share the feeling after having seen this sequel: it is not a fun film and certainly not a children&#8217;s film. I was moved by the themes in this animated film, just like she was. Which would probably not have been possible with &#8216;ordinary&#8217; actors &#8211; they were indeed actors. The monstrosity of the colonizer, the improbable beauty of underwater nature variations, the mythological resilience of the Na&#8217;vi could never have left such an impression on the viewers without the overwhelming technique. But it remains a fantasy film, a 3D animation, entertainment of the most expensive kind. I understand that only after $2 billion in sales does the movie become profitable. It seems almost impossible to top this through the next two installments. But maybe Ilse Meijer can then conclude that the wake-up call is definitely there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">Ricky Turpijn&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Avatar, the way of water, is still fiction.
