De cao-lonen liggen in het eerste kwartaal van 2023 5 procent hoger dan een jaar eerder. Dat is de grootste toename in veertig jaar volgens het CBS. Het is ook hoger dan het inflatie cijfer van 4.4%. Euforie dus. Het lijkt, dat veel bedrijven deze lonen kunnen betalen uit hun winstreserves. Maar de ondernemer ziet ook de toekomst op zich af stormen met de eis om bijv. te verduurzamen en dus te investeren. Dus sparen. De ondernemer moet de keuze maken: uit eigen zak betalen of doorbelasten in de prijzen. Als dat laatste gebeurt, dan voelen de consumenten dat natuurlijk weer. Inflatie, dus. En dus mogelijk weer een looneis. In Spanje hebben grootgrutters 178 producten in prijs verhoogd (waaronder op gezond voedsel groente en fruit). Dit nadat de BTW op deze producten werd verlaagd om zodoende de consumptie van die producten te stimuleren. Zelfs zonder extra last worden prijzen dus verhoogd. Uitzonderingen daargelaten is de ondernemer geen charitatieve instelling. Een loon\/prijs spiraal ligt altijd op de loer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-red-background-color has-text-color has-background\">The fear of a wage\/price spiral does not seem to play a role in the euphoria of the CBS report (NRC 7\/4\/23 Highest rise in collective labor agreement wages in 40 years). In the first quarter of 2023, collectively agreed wages are 5 percent higher than one year previously. That is the largest increase in forty years according to Statistics Netherlands. It is also higher than the inflation rate of 4.4%. So euphoria. It seems that many companies can pay these wages from their profit reserves. But the entrepreneur also sees the future storming at him with the requirement, for example, to become more sustainable and therefore to invest. So save. The entrepreneur must make a choice: pay out of pocket or pass on the prices. If the latter happens, consumers will of course feel it again. So inflation. And therefore possibly another wage demand. In Spain, large grocers have increased the price of 178 products (including fruit and vegetables on healthy foods). This after the VAT on these products was reduced in order to stimulate the consumption of those products. Even without an additional burden, prices are therefore increased. Barring exceptions, the entrepreneur is not a charitable institution.
