Je zal toch al heel lang een loyale medewerker van de belastingdienst zijn en altijd hebben meegekregen om vooral het goede te doen in het werk, ook als niemand kijkt. Dan lees je in het NRC, dat je een veelpleger bent in het achterhouden van privacygevoelige lijstjes. Heb je net daarvoor in de media gelezen, dat je de wet overtreedt door schijnzelfstandigen als collega te gedogen. Je naam is al door het slijk gehaald door de toeslagenaffaire en nu dit weer. Je kan bijna niet lager zakken aan de borreltafel. Ik kan mij voorstellen, dat jongeren met deze slechte pers niet bij de Belastingdienst willen werken. Niets is minder waar. De Belastingdienst blijft een populaire werkgever. Veel jongeren willen nog steeds werken voor de publieke zaak. Maar om dit zo te houden doet de staatssecretaris er goed aan om gehoor te geven aan de oproep van medewerkers, verzameld in het boekje van de vereniging van inspecteurs, om in de media het meer op te nemen voor de belastingdienstmedewerker. Het tij moet om.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surely you have been a loyal employee of the tax authorities for a long time and have always been taught to do the right thing at work, even when no one is looking. Then you read in the NRC that you are a frequent offender in withholding privacy-sensitive lists. Did you read in the media just before that you are breaking the law by tolerating bogus self-employed people as colleagues? Your name has already been dragged through the mud by the benefits affair and now this again. You can hardly sink lower at the drinks table. I can imagine that young people with this bad press do not want to work for the tax authorities. Nothing is less true. The Tax and Customs Administration remains a popular employer. Many young people still want to work for the public good. But to keep it that way, the State Secretary would do well to heed the call of employees, collected in the booklet of the association of inspectors, to take up more of the media for the tax office employee. The tide must turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
