Ethics is not blind to people and law<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gaat dat wel samen fraude bestrijden en oog hebben voor de menselijke maat? En wel zo dat mensen niet worden vermorzeld door de staatsmachten (NRC 27\/2\/24 rapport fraudebeleid)? Dat moet wel, omdat Nederland een individuele straftoemeting kent. Maar dat is dus volgens het rapport van de parlementaire enqu\u00eate commissie \u201cBlind voor mens en recht\u201d faliekant mislukt. En het heeft veel mensen onterecht pijn gedaan. Maar ik hoop niet, dat de politiek in een kramp schiet, dat fraudebestrijding dan maar op een laag pitje wordt gezet of sterker, in het kader van bezinning een tijd afwezig is, omdat het overheidssysteem er kennelijk niet in slaagt de juiste daders te treffen. Menselijke maat gaat uit van vertrouwen, maar fraude ligt altijd op de loer. Daar moet de gemeenschap niet ineens na\u00efef in worden. Het hanteren van de menselijke maat, de mens achter de regel, m\u00f3et dus samengaan met fraudebestrijding. De aanbevelingen in het rapport helpen daarbij. Zij komen er eigenlijk op neer, dat de overheidsambtenaar de goede dingen moet doen, ook als er niemand kijkt. Dat noem ik een oproep om altijd ethisch te handelen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will this work together to combat fraud and pay attention to the human dimension? And in such a way that people are not crushed by state powers (NRC 27\/2\/24 report on fraud policy)? This is necessary, because the Netherlands has an individual sentencing system. But according to the report of the parliamentary inquiry committee \u201cBlind for man and law\u201d, this has failed miserably. And it has unfairly hurt a lot of people. But I hope that politics will not go into spasm, that the fight against fraud will be put on the back burner or, more importantly, will be absent for a while in the context of reflection, because the government system apparently fails to target the right perpetrators. Humanity is based on trust, but fraud is always lurking. The community should not suddenly become naive about this. Applying the human touch, the person behind the rule, must therefore go hand in hand with combating fraud. The recommendations in the report help with this. They basically mean that the government official must do the right things, even when no one is watching. That’s what I call a call to always act ethically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
