Een gemeenschap, die als geen ander weet wat systematische uitroeiing op grond van wie zij zijn, betekent. Uitgesproken tegen het vernietigende excessieve geweld, maar dit geen genocide noemt. Wel een poging Gaza te zuiveren. Juiste woorden doen er volgens haar toe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-9ed3b7c1362f380622c04775f1f09e4d wp-block-paragraph\">Het oogmerk moet er zijn om genocide te plegen, zoals dat ook in art 3 van de Wet op de internationale misdrijven is neergelegd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wetten.overheid.nl\/BWBR0015252\/2020-01-01\">https:\/\/wetten.overheid.nl\/BWBR0015252\/2020-01-01<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-314ad18cb9e0338c25c8b9dcce40923f wp-block-paragraph\">Het oogmerk van Isra\u00ebl in de versie van Chaja Polak voldoet daar inderdaad niet aan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-a53a936810ee4c9afd079c3d18efccea wp-block-paragraph\">De voorstelling van de genocide in de Holocaust is zo ondraaglijk, dat het lijkt alsof voor Chaja Polak elke vergelijking ermee mank gaat. De emotie is zeer begrijpelijk, mogelijk ook om haar moederland nog enigszins in bescherming te nemen. Maar zij doet hiermee zichzelf en de Joodse gemeenschap tekort. Immers, de Holocaust heeft er voor gezorgd, dat genocide een juridische jas heeft gekregen en het kwaad is niet uit de wereld. Woorden doen ertoe, zegt Chaja Polak. Jazeker en daarom moet je genocide benoemen als het zich voordoet. Dat Chaja Polak zich uitspreekt is bewonderenswaardig, maar zij zal erop moeten rekenen, dat de VN de acties van Isra\u00ebl als genocide kan bestempelen. Een genocide, waarvoor de Holocaust het kader heeft gegeven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-red-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-57348ccb9fc1dde22d8bf01aa0e2582e wp-block-paragraph\">By speaking out, Ms. Chaja Polak,writer and visual artist, removes a lot of criticism of the Jewish community, which would not emphatically renounce what the Israeli government is doing to the people of Gaza (NRC 4\/1 \/ Why I do not want to call the war in Gaza genocide) . A community that knows better than anyone what systematic extermination based on who they are means. Outspoken against the destructive excessive violence, but does not call it genocide. An attempt to cleanse Gaza. The emotion is very understandable, possibly also to protect her motherland somewhat. But in doing so she is doing herself and the Jewish community a disservice. After all, the Holocaust has ensured that genocide has been given a legal coat of arms and evil has not disappeared from the world. Words matter, says Chaja Polak. Yes, and that is why you have to mention genocide when it occurs. That Chaja Polak is speaking out is admirable, but she will have to count on the UN being able to label Israel&#8217;s actions as genocide.
