It is part of the social fabric, part of our very make-up as a human family\u201d (Ban Ki-moon).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-2f9f17ee3b636b98d2876e73d1c1d648 wp-block-paragraph\">Tunesi\u00eb, Zweden, Japan. Wat is de overeenkomst? Geen rellen in Nederland van supporters uit die landen na afloop van de WK wedstrijden tegen Nederland. Feestvieren en relschoppen liggen tegenwoordig dicht naast elkaar. Hoe de knock-out wedstrijd Nederland-Marokko (of Marokko-Nederland?) zal aflopen, het zal een verrassing zijn als het rustig zal blijven (NRC 29\/6\/26 Wereldkampioenschap voetbal). Maar waar supporters normaal hun helden op het schild mogen zetten en een overwinning publiekelijk mogen vieren, lijkt dat voor Marokkaanse Nederlanders die het Marokkaanse team steunen een politieke stellingname, namelijk tegen de Nederlandse samenleving. Of dat juist is, is niet belangrijk. Het is inherent aan het migratiedebat, dat de Nederlandse samenleving tot een splijtzwam maakt en waar de Marokkaanse diaspora in Nederland al een tijd als zondebok is aangewezen. Wie er ook wint, de rellerige feesten of de feestelijke rellen blijven. De oproep komt natuurlijk te laat, maar wat zou het een dikke middelvinger naar het migratiedebat zijn, als de feestende massa daarbij zwaait met twee vlaggen, de Nederlandse \u00e9n Marokkaanse vlag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-red-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-142e372d1c928a804bfbaffaa6102ffe wp-block-paragraph\">Tunisia, Sweden, Japan. What do they have in common? No riots in the Netherlands by supporters from those countries following their World Cup matches against the Dutch team. These days, celebrating and rioting often go hand in hand. Whatever the outcome of the knockout match between the Netherlands and Morocco (or Morocco and the Netherlands?), it would be a surprise if things remained calm (NRC 29\/6\/26 World Cup football). Yet, while supporters are normally free to hoist their heroes onto their shoulders and celebrate a victory in public, for Dutch-Moroccans supporting the Moroccan team, such actions appear to constitute a political statement\u2014specifically, one directed against Dutch society. Whether that perception is accurate is beside the point. It is intrinsic to the migration debate\u2014an issue that divides Dutch society and in which the Moroccan diaspora in the Netherlands has long been cast as a scapegoat. Regardless of who wins, the rowdy celebrations or celebratory riots are bound to persist.
