Inhoud is belangrijk, maar al langer is de vorm voor de Nederlander-van-nu nog belangrijker. Mark Rutte voldoet als geen ander aan dit laatste. Met de donkere wolken in het verschiet is oliemannetje Mark Rutte onmisbaar voor Nederland.

Content is important, but form has been even more important for the Dutchman of today. Mark Rutte meets the latter like no other. With the dark clouds ahead, oil man Mark Rutte is indispensable for the Netherlands.
Hij is als vrijgezel voor vrouwen én mannen de ideale partij: lang, studentikoos (Pietje Bell met uitbundig SMS gedrag), behept met een rappe tong én een schaterlach binnen handbereik. In de media laat hij zich niet gauw van zijn stuk brengen, maar laat ook zijn ontroering zien bij gelegenheid, zoals bij de herdenking van de MH17 én bij de ouders in de toeslagenaffaire. Hij kan met schoolkinderen én politieke tegenstanders overweg en heeft ook daardoor een gigantisch netwerk. In de verschillende kabinetten onder zijn leiding past hij zich moeiteloos aan. Bezuiniging en verruiming gaan naadloos in elkaar over. Hij oogt alsof elk probleem voor hem oplosbaar is. Daarbij is hij de eenvoudige jongen gebleven, die zonder beveiliging met een appel in de hand onder alle omstandigheden blijmoedig met de fiets aankomt of weggaat. Hij is de optimistische buurman ten top. Een positivo zouden Van Kooten en De Bie zeggen. Met de donkere wolken in het verschiet is zo’n figuur als Mark Rutte onmisbaar voor Nederland. Een oliemannetje, die 20 steigerende politieke partijen in het parlement in toom houdt én verbindt. Met een uitstraling van vrijheid in gebondenheid. Dat heeft Mark Rutte 12 jaar bewezen en kan dat dus weer bewijzen.

An oil man who keeps and connects 20 prancing political parties in parliament. With an aura of freedom in bondage. Mark Rutte has proven that for 12 years and can therefore prove it again.
