Nou ben ik geen leraar en ik moet mij hier helemaal niet mee bemoeien. Maar ik doe het toch, omdat het onderwijsgeld uit de algemene middelen komt en ik er er ook een bijdrage aan lever.
In de Monitor Leskwaliteit (NRC 9/3/23), die de Onderwijsinspectie publiceerde was de belangrijkste conclusie: de basis is bij de meeste scholen redelijk goed op orde, maar er valt een wereld te winnen als het gaat om de effectiviteit van een les. De openbare basisschool, de Bloeiende Perelaar in Zuidoostbeemster heeft het wel begrepen en de juf daar geeft wel effectief les. Kennelijk geeft een leraar effectief les, als deze aan 25 criteria van de inspectie voldoet. En effectief les geven is toch waar het om draait bij het onderwijs; dat de lesstof wordt overgebracht. Maar waarom lukt het dan niet deze 25 criteria tussen de oren van de kweekschoolleerling te krijgen? Ik lees niet, dat de megaklassen, de taalachterstand van leerlingen, de door de leraar in te vullen tijdvretende excelspreadsheets, de geringe concentratieboog van de TikTokgeneratie, de ‘kritische’ leerling en het tekort aan collega leraren (m/v/lhbtiq+) een belemmering zou zijn.

I do not read that the mega classes, the language delay of students, the time-consuming excel spreadsheets to be completed by the teacher, the limited concentration span of the TikTok generation, the ‘critical’ student and the shortage of fellow teachers (m/f/lgbtiq+) are an obstacle would be.
