Een toch wel plots opgekomen storm in de burelen van de Tweede Kamer. Want dat is het toch wel, een verschil in beleving over hoe mevrouw Arib indertijd als kamervoorzitter haar ambtenaren heeft aangestuurd. Niet hoe zij de Tweede Kamer heeft aangestuurd. Daar krijgt zij van alle kanten lof voor. Opmerkelijk, dat ook burgemeester Marcouch haar op LinkedIn zijn steunbetuiging geeft in een zaak, waar nog niemand precies weet hoe de vork in de steel zit. Maar haar doortastende optreden in de Tweede Kamer geeft mogelijk een glimp van haar optreden in de kamers van de ambtenaren. Conform de tijdgeest zou mevrouw Arib een grens hebben overschreden. Dit lijkt een kwestie, die zich volgens mij al eeuwen voordoet in alle organisaties. Een strenge baas die tegenover de onwillige medewerkers staat. Normaal wordt dit binnenskamers geregeld. Terecht, dat er nu wel een onderzoek komt over de rol van mevrouw Arib indertijd met het oog op haar beoogde voorzitterschap van een parlementaire commissie, waarin zij mogelijk de ondersteuning krijgt van diezelfde klagende anonieme briefschrijvers. Het vermeende gedrag van mevrouw Arib is summier bekend. Maar is ook bekend in welke mate de ambtenaren/ondergeschikten aan zelfreflectie hebben gedaan? Mevrouw Arib zou juist heel blij moeten worden van het onderzoek, omdat nu zou kunnen blijken, dat niets mis is met haar leidinggevende capaciteiten. Maar dat het echt een zooitje was in de organisatie van onwillige, verwende ambtenaren en dat juist zij wellicht het veld moeten ruimen, niet mevrouw Arib. Een boemerang effect. Toch vertrekt zij uit de Tweede Kamer (NRC 3/10/2022).
A sudden storm in the offices of the House of Representatives. Because that is what it is, a difference in perception about how Mrs. Arib directed her officials at the time, as chairman of the chamber. Not how she directed the House of Representatives. She gets praise for that from all sides. It is remarkable that Mayor Marcouch also expresses his support on LinkedIn in a case where no one knows exactly how the fork is yet. But her decisive action in the House of Representatives may give a glimpse of her performance in the chambers of the civil servants. In accordance with the zeitgeist, Mrs. Arib would have crossed a line. This seems to be an issue, which I believe has existed in all organizations for centuries. A strict boss who stands against the unwilling employees. Normally this is arranged indoors. It is right that there is now an investigation into the role of Mrs Arib at the time with a view to her intended chairmanship of a parliamentary committee, in which she may receive the support of the same complaining anonymous letter writers. Ms Arib’s alleged behavior is well known. But is it also known to what extent the officials/subordinates have engaged in self-reflection? Ms Arib should be very happy with the investigation, because it could now turn out that there is nothing wrong with her leadership abilities. But that it really was a mess in the organization of unwilling, spoiled officials and that they might have to leave, not Mrs. Arib. A boomerang effect. Yet she leaves the House of Representatives (NRC 3/10/2022).
Mevrouw Arib, u moet juist de strijd aangaan en laten zien dat de anonieme briefschrijvers niet deugen. Laat maar zien wie er grensoverschrijdend bezig is.
Mrs. Arib, you must fight and show that the anonymous letter writers are no good. Let’s see who is working across borders.
