Het is jammer, dat de column van Marieke Stellinga (NRC 4/11/23) achter een betaalmuur vastzit.

Haar oproep na een harde analyse van het ondernemingsklimaat in NL en het zwevende politieke klimaat daarover tot aan verkiezingsdag 22/11/23 en daarna is lezenswaardig en goed om erover na te denken. Immers, het moet duidelijk zijn wie de ‘fair share’ moet leveren respectievelijk hoe deze over Nederland moet worden verdeeld. Haar oproep verdient daarom navolging: “Er ligt geen economisch receptje op een plank dat elk land zou moeten invoeren. We moeten een goede samenleving bouwen, eentje die wij democratisch hebben uitgevochten. Daar volgt dan een economie uit. Uit de regels en grenzen die wij
bedenken. Dus vecht het uit, stem, en wie er daarna ook regeert: kies.”
En zo is dat.
It is a shame that Marieke Stellinga’s column is stuck behind a paywall. Her call after a hard analysis of the business climate in NL and the floating political climate about it until election day 22/11/23 and beyond is worth reading and good for thinking about it. After all, it must be clear who should provide the ‘fair share’ and how it should be distributed across the Netherlands. Her call therefore deserves to be followed: “There is no economic recipe on a shelf that every country should implement. We must build a good society, one that we have fought for democratically. An economy will follow from that. From the rules and boundaries that we So fight it out, vote, and whoever rules next: choose.”
And that’s how it is.
